This guy Raymond Crews seems like an interesting candidate. He just entered the race for Mike Johnson’s old state rep seat.

Crews appears to have the support of Mike Johnson. Back in 2014, Crews donated $50.00 to Johnson. In fact, that is the only political donation on record for Crews. Crews even sounds like a less refined version of Mike Johnson in his campaign rhetoric.

It will be a test of Johnson’s clout in his home district because his preferred successor will be facing off against the courthouse crowd, the tea party, and even John Bel Edwards, who is expected to back Gatti. Given how popular Johnson was in his old state house district (he was never opposed in any election), Crews has to be considered the frontrunner.
